When you are in communication with others, whatever they say will be visible above their heads.
Feel free to add chat bubbles to your character. You can add plenty of animations to your character, such as dancing, sitting, waving, sleeping, crying, hugging, getting angry, bowing, wagging, and crawling. Change your model by simply pressing F12 to enter the character creation screen. You can add a new hairstyle, pick a color, set height for them, or even add animations to them. The purpose of the mod is to allow you to change the style of your character following your own way. This is also the reason why you have More Player Models mod now. What if you want to adjust the skins to your likings? You cannot do that unless you install a mod. All you can do is just picking up your favorite skin then add it to your character. 
However, before this modification, you don’t have many choices when it comes to character customization. Minecraft players are quite into creating their characters.
